1 Kings 7:13 (KJV)
And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.
And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.
The smallest detail can change everything. Hiram was the king of Tyre and cooperated with Solomon in building the temple by providing lumbermen.
This Hiram, though also from Tyre, is not the same man. He was:
- Not a king
- Not skilled in lumber, but in brass and
- Not a Tyrian (he was a Jew)
I am reminded that small details matter. The Bible can be misinterpreted by:
- Assuming one person to be another or
- Assuming that two men in the Bible, with the same name, are one and the same or
- Assuming anything.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God…[1]
