Psalms 52:8-9 (KJV)
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

The title assigned in the superscript of this Psalm says that David composed it after he learned that Doeg had betrayed the priests in Nob. This title seems to fit along with the theme of the Psalm until verse eight. Here, some students of the Bible have questioned the title on the grounds that David appears too positive.
I agree with those who stand by the title. There is no reason to throw it aside just because we can’t understand the emotion of it. Rather, it serves to remind us that, in the deepest trial of our faith, God’s promises to us are sure.
- It may be honest to consider the scoundrels that do us hurt.
- It is more profitable to focus on the certainties that belong to us in Christ.
