Proverbs 29:9-11 (KJV) The Fool’s Big Trouble

Proverbs 29:9-11 (KJV)
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest. The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
There are a number of character problems with the fool. I believe the root of them all is that they reject instruction.
Proverbs 15:5
A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
Our passage today gives us two lessons in dealing with a fool:
Don’t contend with him
Whether he grows angry at you or laughs at you he isn’t going to listen to you. The only one whose spirit is injured by such a thing is the wise man that attempts to help him.
Therefore the best way to deal with them is silently
It can be helpful to rebuke them but never to argue, debate or discuss with them. The fool just keeps spilling out that which is in his head. His confidence, though wrongly placed, prevents him from either receiving new information or stopping his own tongue.
Just don’t allow him that engagement. Refuse the conversation. Either avoid his company or else refuse to respond to his words.
