1 Thessalonians 4:2 (KJV) People Need Them

1 Thessalonians 4:2 (KJV)
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

Notice the faithfulness of the Apostle, he had so carefully instructed them that he was able to say they knew what commandments he had given them by the Lord Jesus.

People dislike commandments. 

• Lessons are fine 
• Inspirational talks are fine 
• Encouraging stories are fine 

but commandments – people get upset about commandments. Still, the Apostle was faithful in carefully, diligently, clearly instructing them concerning the commandments.

And because he was faithful in teaching them the commandments, he was able to exhort them here to abound more and more.

Be faithful with the commandments. People need them.

• They need them more than Bible lessons
• They need them more than inspirational talks
• They need them more than encouraging stories
• They need the commandments because these are the will of God.
