Deuteronomy 34:1-3 (KJV) Not Yet

Deuteronomy 34:1-3 (KJV)
And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,
And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea,
And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.
It is interesting to me that God showed Moses what was not yet. He didn’t just show him the Promised Land, He showed him which tribes received which lots of land. I picture this conversation between God and Moses, God pointing out the borders of the land of Gilead, the land of Dan the land of Naphtali, Ephraim, Manasseh, and Judah. Though the land God intended for the other tribes is not specifically recorded in this passage, the tenor of the passage suggests to me that God likely showed them to Moses too.
I am reminded of when we built our house. We purchased the land, selected and building plan and chose the spot on that land we would place the house. At one point we came with the children and the builder and walked the property, pointing out where the kitchen, the living room the bedrooms and even where the driveway would be. Because we had the plans, we could predict what would be.
God had the plans so He was able to show this man Moses, who would never enter there himself, just what would be.
Every time we open the Bible God does the same for us. He points out things that are not yet but one day will be. In some cases, we will not see them in the flesh. We, just as Moses did, will die before the thing comes to pass. That makes it no less a reality nor less a blessing to the believer.
