And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

I feel like I must constantly remind those, who could read these daily visits, that everything in the Revelation of Jesus Christ is future and will have a literal fulfillment. That being said, men are the same in every age. We haven’t changed much from the days recorded in the Old Testament and, so far as human nature is concerned, not much will have changed in the time of the Great Tribulation. I can, therefore, learn from those parallels’ lessons helpful to life today and now.
What I notice is how quickly riches come to nothing. In one hour, in barely a moment’s notice, everything these people had placed their stock, their livelihoods and their self-worth had come to naught.
Matthew 6:19-21
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
