Joshua 15:19 (KJV) Give Me A Blessing

Joshua 15:19 (KJV)
Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.
Having received the inheritance, she then approached her father for a blessing, a gift. Her father had promised her hand in marriage to the man who took Kirjathsepher. Othniel took it and was given a piece of property Achsah called “a south land.” She recognized that it wasn’t enough. They would need springs of water. She, therefore, came to her father and asked for something more.
I am reminded of the liberty we have, through our relationship with Jesus Christ, to come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God has been so gracious to us. How could we ever think we deserve salvation, forgiveness, eternal life, and inheritance with Jesus Christ? Yet we find ourselves still in need. This world we pass through is dry and barren unless we have springs flowing from the God of heaven.
Praise the Lord, our Heavenly Father is quick to respond whenever we have need.
Never be afraid to ask a blessing from your Father.
