Judges 1:15 (KJV) Give Me A Blessing – Again

Judges 1:15 (KJV)
And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.

This passage is repeated from Joshua chapter fifteen and was the focus of my visit with God on October 4, 2019. My purpose in my visit with God today is not so much to find out the scholars’ conjectures why it would be repeated so precisely. I want to focus again on the blessing of the text. 

Achsah wanted, needed, a blessing from her father. I notice she had no hesitation, no reservation about asking. She and her husband had been given a property, but they needed water to make it prosper. She asked and she received the necessary thing. Not only once but in the form of two springs. 

God has been so good to us. We have salvation. We have the Word of God. We have a place to worship. But we live in a dry ground. The heat of worldliness beats down upon us and bakes the heart hardened to the things of God. 

• We need living water. 
• We need God’s blessing. 
• We need the help of the Holy Ghost. 

And He promises to quickly give it.
