Matthew 14:30-31 (KJV)
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Bible students and preachers sometimes debate whether Peter should ever have been out of the boat. There are lessons either way.
- Walking by faith he walked on water
- No one else but Jesus had ever done that
- Outside the boat he found himself in trouble
There is a place for each of us. The safest place for any of us is exactly where God wants us to be.
Regardless, Peter found himself in the midst of the darkness and fright of the storm. Some would say he could have walked to the shore if he had never looked at the boisterous wind. I think the important thing is what he did when he saw the wind. He cried out to Jesus.
There are storms aplenty in this world. There are dark times, dangerous times, depressing times. Whether we find ourselves in a storm of our own doing or one of those many storms of life on planet earth, the way to safety is to look to, call on and then trust Jesus.
