1 Kings 12:19-20 (KJV) The Right Course

1 Kings 12:19-20 (KJV)
So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.
And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.
From verse twenty-one, we learned that Benjamin was included. Also, there were Israelites living in the cities of Judah who continued to submit to God’s throne. I note two things here:
It is interesting, is it not, that King Saul’s tribe did not participate in the rebellion.
While the spirit of rebellion surely had its roots in Saul’s hatred for David, when it came time to cut bait, this tribe made the right choice. Praise the Lord we are not bound to the lot of our family, our nation, our religion or our culture. We can choose the right thing.
Those living in Judah remained faithful to God’s throne.
Draw nigh to those following God and, despite what that majority does, you will be more likely to choose the right course.
