Romans 7:13 (KJV) Sin, Exceeding Sinful

Romans 7:13 (KJV)
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
There is a huge difference between knowing that a thing is sin and viewing your own sin as you exceeding sinful.
It is the difference between religion and salvation
Many a lost man can list what acts are sin. It isn’t until he is convicted that his own sin is hell worthy, he will trust the Saviour alone.
It is the difference between repentance and reformation
Any man can decide to change. Some changes can even be learned or forced upon a man. Not until we are convicted our sin is exceeding sinful will we mortify it through the Spirit.
It is the difference between solid Christianity and revival
There are plenty of solid churches, teaching truth and filled with compliant members. Only when those members become broken in the realization that their sin is exceeding sinful will they see the Holy Spirit at work bringing revival among them.
