2 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV)
Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

I realize that any personal application of a passage such as this sets us on less than steady ground. God’s Word, rightly divided is absolute, sure and perfect. God’s Word, when used as an application, can provide profitable but not perfect principles. Paul said God had delivered him, does deliver and will deliver him. Even in his case, there came a day when deliverance was not in the form of escape from physical death. 

I can testify that, in over 37 years of ministry, God has delivered me and my family many times. I am confident He is delivering us from the threats we experience today and, ultimately, He will deliver us when we see Him in glory. 

Now we are under the threat of the Covid-19 virus. God has protected us from so many illnesses in the past. I remember Pastor Don Smith remarking how, when the flu was going around Platteville CO, he and I had stayed well even while out visiting people. In 37 years of preaching, I have only missed preaching because I was sick one time, and that was just recently. I have gotten sick over the years, but God got me through it.  I am certain that God will continue to provide for and protect the people of His churches. We must but look to Him.
