Job 13:23 (KJV) Make Me Know

Job 13:23 (KJV)
How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.
Though the passage, so far as I can see, does not clearly delineate when Job moves his attention from Zophar to God, I am certain he is at this time appealing to God.
I think here is the whole purpose of the book of Job. He was perfect, upright. He feared God and eschewed evil. But he was a sinner. Sometimes, after living for and serving God for a number of years, in my case, decades, we come to that place where we can’t see our sins well. We know theologically we are sinners. We will confess it. We will acknowledge it to others. But we have a difficult time identifying what those sins are. Many times, we think of ourselves as so far down the spiritual road that what we need to do is get people where we are and they will be all right. This is in no way true. We have deceived ourselves. We have to help them get to Jesus if they will be all right. My observation of the state of believers suggests that a huge number of people in our churches have come nowhere near Jesus.
God did a wonderful thing in Job’s life. God brought him to ask God to show him his transgressions and sins.
Right now, we are in a state of world-wide pestilence. We are locked in all around the world. Our finances are nil, our connections with others are minimal. This is the perfect time to stop and ask God to do for us what Job asked God to do for him.
make me to know my transgression and my sin.”
