Psalms 25:1-2 (KJV) Let Me Not Be Ashamed

Psalms 25:1-2 (KJV)
Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
This, it seems to me, is the heartbeat of the child of God. Though we have enemies. Though it seems to us that they may well triumph over us, still, we lift up our soul to God and trust Him alone.
  • We trust Him to triumph over our enemies
  • We trust Him so that we wait upon Him
  • We trust Him that we will not be ashamed
The subject of shame has, it seems to me, at least two applications:
We will not be ashamed in defeat
God will triumph over our enemies and thus we will not be ashamed.
We will not take inappropriate and shameful action
Because we trust God and wait upon Him, we are less prone to do something, say something or act in some way that brings shame upon ourselves or our faith.
