2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The Lord is not slack … The primary interpretation and application have to do with the return of the Lord, the consummation of all things. Specifically, the passage addresses the mockers who question the promise. When they scoff and challenge our faith, the Word of God answers them, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise”.
I want to recommend to you that we can direct this promise our way. When things get very hard, when we have a difficult time understanding why we suffer so. When you look to God for help, but it seems like none comes, remember that the Lord is not slack concerning His promise. He will come. He will come on time and in time. What a day that will be! All of the suffering, heartache, and pain will be ended. We who are Christ’s will live eternally and in eternity with Him.
