Psalms 119:92 (KJV) The Word Alone

Psalms 119:92 (KJV)
Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.

The affliction of the Psalmist must have been extraordinary. It seems like there was nothing else to which he could cling.

  • No friend
  • No nest egg
  • No authority

He had one thing alone with the ability to hold him above the flood. It is the law of God, His Word. That alone prevents a man from perishing. But that only works when God’s Word is his delight.

It is a difficult thing to be stripped of every confidence and assurance. It is a blessed thing when, thus stripped, we discover that God and His Word is all we need.

To my readers:
First of all, thank you! It is a great joy to me to know you read the thoughts and lessons God has given me in His word. Secondly, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to leave comments.
