Proverbs 25:1 (KJV)
These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.
Hezekiah ruled Judah some two hundred years after Solomon and still, as one of their best kings, was employed in copying and disseminating the Word of God, in this case, the Proverbs of Solomon.
I am of the opinion that one of the best efforts any Christian might be involved in is the reproduction of Scripture and pieces of it for the benefit of others. I commend works like Bearing Precious Seed and Local Church Publishers. I commend those ministries that produce tracts and other publications of the Word of God.
I am glad for the heritage of the Anabaptists who faithfully preserved for us a family of Bible manuscripts that are infallible and inerrant and that counter the damning doctrines of the Alexandrian family of texts. As a believer I want to “copy out” the Word of God[1], and motivate others to do the same, so that all may hear, from one voice or another, the promises, principles and truths of the Word.
Psalms 1:1-2 (KJV)
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Revelation 1:3 (KJV)
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
[1] This might be done in the form of a written tract passed out, writing out the Word of God in letters and other correspondence we send, reading the Word of God, in any means whereby we may publish the Word of God so that others might read it, see it and hear it.
