Isaiah 27:5 (KJV) Make Peace with Me

Isaiah 27:5 (KJV)

Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.

In the previous verse, God asserted, “Fury is not in me..” God is not of the character to hold unrestrained and irrational anger. But He is not a pushover.

  • He will correct sin.
  • He will judge rebellion.
  • He will destroy His enemies.

Or else they can make peace with Him.

What a promise!

No matter how we have set ourselves against God there is always the invitation to make peace. He will judge unrighteousness. He will execute His judgments to the fullest extent. But He will also continually hold out the invitation, “Take hold of my strength. Make peace with me.” And when we make peace with God, He promises that the peace will be made.
