Daniel 10:1 (KJV) The Thing Was True

Daniel 10:1 (KJV)
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

I note the phrase, “The thing was true, but the time appointed was long.”

That a thing takes a long time to come to pass, that it is planned for a long time in the future, or that it happened a long time ago in the past does in no way impact it’s truthfulness.

History is always true.
What happened in the past happened and, because it happened, that it

happened is true. Unfortunately, as time moves on, we lose elements of the truth. Little details get misplaced and forgotten so that, while the thing is true because it happened long ago, our account is called into question. Question as we might, what happened is true

God’s prophecy is always true
In much the same manner as in history, our understanding of every detail of prophecy is limited. Because of that, and because so many prophecies are a long time in the future from the time they were given, some people question, doubt, and scoff. Scoff as they might the prophecies of God are always true.
