Ezekiel 28:11-12 (KJV) Who’s At the Bottom of All This?

Ezekiel 28:11-12 (KJV)

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

I picture in my mind that Russian doll that opens to reveal inside another doll, that opens to reveal yet another. Chapters previous to this describe the judgment against Tyrus, then against the merchants of Tyrus. The verses just previous to this reveal the judgment of the prince of Tyrus, who claimed to be a god, but who was able to be slain. Here finally we see the king of Tyrus, who is none other than Satan. 

The judgment of the nation is the result of the people’s unholiness. The destruction of the people is the result of unholy leadership. The unholy leadership is the result of Satan’s underlying work. 

See it as a pyramid. The top of the pyramid is built upon leadership. The foundation of the leadership, in this case, is Satan. 

Conversely,

• The way to have a strong nation is to have sound leadership 
• The way to have a sound leadership is to have a godly foundation 
• The way to have a godly foundation is to have faith in the one true God
