For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans chapter seven ends with the mind serving the law of God. Chapter eight then is an essential lesson on the mind. To be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
The final two verses speak of persuasion. The mind must become persuaded of the truth and become the “mind of the spirit” so that we mortify the deeds of the flesh, live in the hope of Christ’s image upon us, and rest in the promise, “if God be for us, who can be against us?”
