Leviticus 10:16 (KJV) Moses Was Angry

Leviticus 10:16 (KJV)

And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,

I completely understand why Moses was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar. Their brothers had just died by their presumption and disobedience to God. Moses did not want these two to die as well.

  • They should have known the importance of absolute obedience
  • They should have understood the need to carefully do as Moses had commanded

If they had died as a result of their own disobedience, Moses could have laid the blame on himself.

I am not sure I think Aaron’s excuse was of the Lord. But when all was said and done, Moses was content.

I visited with the Lord around this passage back in 2010[1] and then wrote. “Aaron may still have been in error. I think he was. But Moses had done what was his to do. From there he could be content. I may not always get the response I would like from my ministry but being faithful in my ministry, I may be content.”

I stand by that today.
