2 Corinthians 1:1 (KJV) Any and All

2 Corinthians 1:1 (KJV)

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

I see that the Word of God addresses this epistle to two distinct groups.
There is the church of God which is at Corinth
Note this, a letter, a message is not written to a building. It would serve no purpose to do so. The epistle is written to a congregation of believers.

There were “all the saints which are in all Achaia.”
These are distinct to those who were members of the church at Corinth. Whether they belonged to churches in other areas, we do not know. I think it is possible that Paul did not know either, and therefore, purposely made the distinction.

Here’s the lesson. There is a difference between being a member of a church and not. The Word of God is written to all and applies to all. This is equally true of those who are not Christians. God’s Word is for them too. The thing is that it applies differently to each.

We would urge any and all who are lost without Christ to come to Him and be saved.

We would equally urge any and all saints, wherever they are, to find a sound Biblical church and unite together with it.
