Job 21:19 Getting Away With It?

Job 21:19 (KJV)

God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 (KJV)
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Though the plan of God for the ages has many stages, God does not change. His character is immutable. His program is uncompromisable. His justice is incontrovertible.

So here we see Job, in what is arguably the oldest book of the Bible, confirming the promise of God laid down to us by Apostle Paul almost four thousand years later.

Here’s the truth of it. The wicked are not getting away with anything. God is laying up every one of their iniquities, and He is doing it for His children.

We can rest in this; when the Lord Jesus is revealed, God will take vengeance upon the wicked.

Far from glorying in this, the Bible lesson is that we ought to fervently pray for them that they may come to know Jesus’s forgiveness.
