Isaiah 37:35 (KJV) A Promise for Today

Isaiah 37:35 (KJV)

For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

  • It is a different audience- Hezekiah
  • It is a different entity-a city, Jerusalem
  • It is a different threat-Assyria
  • It is a different reason for defense-David’s sake
  • It is a different means of defense-the death of the Assyrian army

But every Word of God is given to us by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and it has profitability and application for every time.

  • Today, I am the audience
  • Today, the entity is our local church
  • Today, the threat is unrest and discontentment with God, a lack of Bible understanding of where God places us
  • Today, the reason for defense is for Jesus’s sake
  • Today, the means of defense is opened eyes to the truth of the Bible

Oh, my LORD, I’m begging for this promise to be ours.
