Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
God has an appointed day. As a believer, my most cherished thought is that of the day appointed by God. Human history can sometimes overwhelm us with information that drowns out those thoughts. We sometimes become so obsessed with personal successes that we push away those thoughts. But the Christian, who is aware of the Word of God, keeps these thoughts at his forefront.
The appointed day is all about Jesus Christ.
- It is by Him God judges on that day
- It is Him God has ordained
- It is Him God raised from the dead
The sinless life of Jesus Christ, coupled with His vicarious death, demonstrates, and proves the righteousness of God’s judgment.
The vicarious death of Christ, coupled with His resurrection, provides all men a way to escape the judgment.
- It is the sin of man that moved God to appoint the Day of Judgment
- It is the love of God that moved God to ordain a deliverer
- It is the Gospel of Christ that transforms the appointed day into one of hope
