And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
I recently preached a message from the book of Genesis chapter one I called “In A Perfect World.” I tried to point out from Genesis that a perfect world may not be what our corrupted imaginations believe it to be. In that perfect Garden of Eden
- There was work
- There was responsibility
- There was unity
- There was a restriction and
- There was even a tempter
I commented that a perfect world isn’t lying by a stream eating grapes and taking twenty-hour naps.
There will be no tempter in eternity. Still, it may not be what so many people think it will be. There will be service and servants.
The word servants means what is typical in the Bible, “slave, subservient, bondman.”
Service means, “menial, homage.”
In a perfect world, there will still be service, servants, and a reason to humble ourselves in the presence of the Lord.
