Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;
We see so many things in the world as contests, conflicts, and attacks on the Christian faith.
- Politics
- Philosophies
- Worldview
There are evil and wicked men who persecute and oppress the believers.
There is atheism and agnosticism and, perhaps worse than both, apathy toward the things of God.
But here, I believe, God sets up the greatest of all contests.
He testifies His Word to us, but it is up to us whether we hear and hearken.
It isn’t as if God could not require we hearken. It is that the result of such a requirement would not accomplish His eternal plan. So, it is up to us. God pleads with us. The ball is in our court.
- Will we hear God?
- Will we hearken?
