LORD, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments.
This is a simple and straightforward path for walking with God. There is nothing complicated about it. It requires no degree. The youngest child can understand it. The simplest of people can comprehend it.
Hope in the Lord’s salvation
Hope – put trust in. Expect that His salvation is exactly as he has promised. We do not hope that we are saved. That is a promise. We hope in the day when the promise is fulfilled and our spirit, soul, and body – quickened, redeemed and incorruptible, dwell in the eternal presence of the almighty.
Do the Lord’s commandments
Just learn and obey His Word. It is a progressive effort. We all realize that. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word that ye may grow thereby.[1] As we study to show ourselves approved unto God,[2] we grow in understanding of the Word of God. As we grow in understanding, we grow in our ability to do His commandments. To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.[3] Don’t fret about what you don’t know. Just do what you do know and allow God to show you more in His Word as He pleases.
Nothing complicated. Nothing overwhelming. Just a simple walk, daily, and blessed walk with the Lord.
