Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
I continue to be impressed with how much the days of Isaiah appear to be like our own. It was a different era, Before Christ. It was a different area, the Middle East. It was a different political environment. The superpower of the day was Egypt.
But it was just like right now.
Many of those who profess faith had revolted against God. The nation, weakened through the lack of faith and the degradation that causes, were threatened by outside forces. In the face of this threat, the obvious answer seemed to be Egypt.
But God says He would destroy both it and those who trust in it.
Christianity, for the most part, is in a spiritual mess. The greatest number of professing Christians are part of denominations that rebelled against God hundreds of years ago, some thousands. This has left us all vulnerable to the emboldened tribes of ungodly. Where will we go for refuge? I appeal to those who read this not to flee into the strongholds of religion. Reformation doctrine might seem like a spiritual superpower, but it is not where Jesus is. Reformation, as will all of Protestantism, will return to their religion mother and be destroyed. Turn ye instead, to Him from whom they all revolted.
· Turn to Christ
· Turn to the local Baptist church
· Turn to the only source of fellowship that has any claim to Christ outside of Catholicism.
Are the Baptists perfect? Absolutely not. But there is nowhere else remotely attached to the promise of Christ in Matthew 16:18.[1]
