And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
The idolatrous mind of the lost will forever paint God in a corner they do not believe He can or deserves to be free of. In their minds
He does not exist
In which case all the troubles in the world are accidental, the evolutionary law of survival of the fittest.
He is inept
In which case He is no more than man is. He is incapable of affecting our lives one way or the other and therefore unworthy of following.
He is all powerful
In which case He should have known how to make man love Him be loyal to Him and have free choice without allowing for the existence of evil.
God did not create evil. He created beings with choice. He created them with the ability to choose something other than God. To turn a direction other than God is to turn to evil because God is wholly good.
They would criticize God if He gave them no choice.
They would criticize God that one of the choices isn’t, by their definition, good.
· A thinking mind can see the grace of God in setting before us two ways.
· A reasonable mind can see how choosing the way of death will have unpleasant consequences.
· A humble mind can see the answer is to come to the Lord for forgiveness, redemption and the merciful blessing of the Saviour.
