Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
“There is coming a day
when no heartache shall come,
no more clouds in the sky,
no more tears to dim the eye.
And forever I shall be
with the one who died for me.
What a day, glorious day, that will be.”
There is no question that the Bible is all about “the coming day.” The first promise of “the coming day” is Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
· Noah heard about a coming day
· Abraham heard about a coming day
· David heard about a coming day
But a day came when Jesus was born, lived, died and rose again.
Jesus said He would leave and then come again. We’re still waiting that day. It would be appropriate even to say that it’s the true sign of the believer.
2 Timothy 4:8
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing
It’s one of the strongest objections of the unbeliever.
2 Peter 3:3-4 (KJV)
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
It is also the most blessed thing we Christians hope for.
Titus 2:13 (KJV)
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Behold, the days come…
Don’t let go of that hope!
What a day, glorious day, that will be!
