Mark 11:33 (KJV)
And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
Jesus knew that the Pharisees were looking for something to accuse Him of. He also knew they already knew by what authority He claimed to operate. They didn’t need an answer so He gave them none. He stopped the question by simply saying, “Neither tell I you.” There were things they didn’t feel compelled to answer therefore there were things He was not compelled to answer either.
One of the great mistakes we make as believers is that we often believe we have to say something, we have to give an answer to every question.
Paul said to be ready to answer every man concerning the hope within us. That is to tell them our testimony of salvation. We do not have try to answer every question they present, especially if they are insincere in asking.
