Matthew 17:19 (KJV)
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

Never have men been closer to the Lord than the Twelve.

• They saw him face to face. 
• They heard his voice. 
• They walked where He walked when he walked. 

Still they wondered why they couldn’t do what Jesus did.

Christian experience is not supposed to be focused on what we can do but upon what Jesus can do.

• Our faith will always come short. 
• Our efforts at fasting and prayer will never be entirely sufficient. 
• Our hands will always build an imperfect product. 

The question isn’t “Why can’t we?” But “Will Christ?”

We don’t need more powerful disciples, we need more of Jesus.
