Jonah 3:1-2 (KJV)
And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
Nothing changed.
The will of God for Jonah was the same in chapter three as it was in chapter one. That was:
- After he found a ship to flee from God
- After he had been thrown overboard
- After he had been swallowed and spit up
- After he had prayed
God never changes. Yet we think that, just because our circumstances have changed God’s will must have changed too.
We somehow have the impression that time, culture and the opinions of men influence the will of God.
Not so
He is the same yesterday and today and forever. His will is the same the second time as it was the first.
It will be the same:
The third time and the fourth
The third time and the fourth
Just learn His Word and obey it.
