Job 19:25-27 (KJV)
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

This passage isn’t exactly the halfway point in the book of Job, but it is a pivotal one. The accusations of Job’s friends were technically correct. There was little argument Job wished to make against them. His only concern was that he knew this was not a judgment of his sin.

This brings to light a truth not often meditated upon; that God tests His children for their improvement. Like the athletic coach who may assign pushups or running as a form of discipline but also requires all his athletes to do significant amounts of the very same for their physical improvement, God chastens his child when necessary. Not all difficulty is chastening. It might be meant for their growth.

Job had few answers. He affirmed truth as he knew it, acknowledged the power of God in all things and then rested upon this promise, Job 19:25  For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

May we all rest in the same.
