Deuteronomy 6:25 (KJV)
And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

Seems to me that the operative word is, if.
The fact is that no one has ever observed to do all these commandments. Many have tried. All have failed. The narrative of the history of Israel is evidence of this. The very best of them failed at one time or another. As a people, they failed most of the time. They did, as a people, desire to love, serve and obey God. They just couldn’t keep it up over time.

The same is our experience today.
Religion teaches that, if we would just do good, God would love us. Time and again people turn over a new leaf. Time again they change,

- To a more modern church
- To a more contemporary church
- To a more traditional church
- To a more Jewish church
But time and again they fail the ultimate test – they just can’t observe all these commandments all of the time.
- Some give up
- Some justify themselves
- Some compromise
The solution is this simple, 2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
