Joshua 9:8 (KJV) Coming Short

Joshua 9:8 (KJV)
And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye?

The people of Gibeon remind me of the majority of people in churches today. While the people of God are a minority in the world, and the majority unite in opposition to God, there is this other contingent of people who, instead of being born again, make a league with the church. They never become brethren; they only agree that they will be servants in the house of God. Refusing to surrender, and die to self, they prefer to work out their own salvation in good works.

Their plan will always leave them short of the glory of God.

To my readers:
First of all, thank you! It is a great joy to me to know you read the thoughts and lessons God has given me in His word. Secondly, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to leave comments.
