Job 9:1-2 (KJV)
Then Job answered and said,
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
Then Job answered and said,
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
There was the problem. Job knew it to be true that God is holy, just and His judgments right. He knew he was a sinner. But he also knew that, so far as he was aware, he had done nothing to bring about these calamities. He knew no way to right what was wrong.
- He needed help.
- He needed a daysman,[1] to lay his hand on both he and the Lord.
Certainly, Satan was no daysman.
He was the accuser.
He was the accuser.
His family members were no daysmen.
They had been slain.
They had been slain.
His wife was no daysman.
She challenged him to curse God and die.
She challenged him to curse God and die.
His friends were no daysmen.
They accused him of some unknown (to them) sin.
They accused him of some unknown (to them) sin.
There was no daysman.
But there was one coming. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God does lay His hand on man and on God. He comes between. He bridges the gap. He rights what is wrong with us.
