John 11:16 (KJV)
Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
They did go with Jesus, but they didn’t die. Contrary, they saw instead the resurrection of Lazarus from the grave.
There is no doubt but that this miracle propelled the Pharisees into an aggressive posture against Jesus. A conspiracy to kill Him was in the works before this chapter finished. Tradition says that all of the Apostles (except John) were executed in their lifetime. But the disciples did not die then and there.
A good deal of the time those things that frighten us into disobedience are false fears. Even if they are based in some reality, they are seldom as bad as our imaginations make them out to be.
Let us go with Jesus and trust Him for the outcome, whatever it may be.
