And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Keywords in this chapter include:
- Weary
- Faint
- Fail
- Despise
The chapter is a thesis meant to provide the tools to combat these plagues of earthly life. They are no doubt part and parcel of the mortal experience.
We combat them firstly, by looking unto Jesus
He is the source of our faith.
Secondly, by considering what He endured
And we are no better than He.
Thirdly, by understanding the purpose of chastening
It is meant to perfect and make holy.
Fourthly, by following peace
Seeking to be a help to all men.
Fifthly, by remembering our end
In the heavenly Jerusalem.
There is so much more in the chapter, but this is enough to make the juices of meditation flow.
