Romans 4:25 (KJV) An Unselfish God

Romans 4:25 (KJV)

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

What an unselfish God.

The work of Christ was all for us, none for Himself. There was no benefit to God in any of the work of salvation.

He was delivered for our offenses
Delivered, surrendered over, betrayed, put in prison, ultimately sacrificed for our offenses; Jesus had none, we have plenty. The wages of sin is death so, for our offenses, He died.

He was raised again for our justification

The resurrection was not meant to prove He was right, demonstrate His deity, or glorify Himself (although in our eyes, it does all of that). He died. He was buried. And He rose again for our justification. We, not He, needed His resurrection.

God, who is the only One who has ever had the right to demand all attention be on Himself, put all of His attention upon us so that we would be saved if we would but believe.
