Leviticus 7:27 (KJV) How Would They Know?

Leviticus 7:27 (KJV)

Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

I got to thinking, how would anyone else know if a person had eaten blood? People are pretty good at hiding things they know they shouldn’t do but want to do anyway.

Were there “blood police” who spied on people to see if they had eaten blood? Did they have detectives with the skills to analyze whether one had eaten blood or not? Did God Himself “tell on them” so that they could not get away with eating blood?

When you think about it, it turns out we’re not all that good at getting away with sin. We might be able to hide it for a season. It could be people we love will overlook our sins. But the Bible speaks plainly, “be sure your sin will find you out.”[1]

[1] Numbers 32:23 (KJV)
But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
