Isaiah 43:11 (KJV)

I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

 

Our world can be divided into two populations:

·       Those who believe in a god

·      Those who claim[1] they do not believe in a god

 

By far, the believers outnumber those who claim they are unbelievers. The disparity is so great that I would assert that there is no such thing as an unbeliever. There are only those who believe and those who deny they believe. Those who deny they believe have replaced belief in a god with another form of idol; that of the human intellect. They have devised all sorts of systems by which they believe[2] they can rule out the existence of a god.

 

The concern of this passage is an entirely different one. Belief in a god is useless. God. Who does exist, insists,

·       I am

·       I am the LORD

·       I am the only Saviour

Jesus said, John 14:6 (KJV)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Once a man has reckoned with the existence of God He must then reckon with His relationship to Jesus.

 

It is obvious to any thinking man that humanity is in trouble. The only answer to that trouble is through reconciliation with God. The only means of reconciliation with God is to know and trust Jesus Christ.

[1] I understand this is controversial. But the history of humanity demonstrates a universal belief in a god of some kind. I believe that “faith” though mostly corrupted now, was placed there by God. The relatively new doctrine of atheism is an “unlearning.” Rather than the natural state of man, atheism is unnatural and must be imposed upon a soul.

[2] A form of faith.
