And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
White, whiter than white.
So much of our understanding of life depends on our experiences. We only gauge a thing by the instruments at our disposal. We can only compare a thing to what we know. We can only create a thing with the materials in our hands.
We can never, on this earth and in this life, imagine God as He truly is. We simply don’t have the tools to do it.
Imagine white—whiter than any white.
White is the absence of any other color. There is no such thing on this earth. Every white has some measure of off white. God, on the other hand, is without corruption. God is without change. God is without limitation. God is without fault. God is without rival. God is without equal.
You get the point.
He is more pure than we can suppose—more pure than we can describe.
The fuller’s job was to whiten cloth. He used bleach or whatever means he had to soften, fill, and remove residual color. Yet his work was never perfect—never absolutely without color. Even so, man cannot fashion a religion so near to God as to rival the simple relationship we have with Jesus Christ.
As limited as we are in our comprehension of God, the wisest decision is to stop trying to comprehend Him, invent ways to reach Him, or mimic Him—and instead simply do as He said, and trust Him.

White, whiter than white: Only in Christ
✨ Want Bible answers that go deeper than opinion?
When Jesus shone “exceeding white as snow,” it revealed more than light — it showed His perfect, sinless nature. No human effort, no religion, no “fuller on earth” can compare to His purity.
