And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
Someone once suggested to me that this was the last time Jesus passed through Jericho.
This was possibly the blind beggar’s final chance at healing.
I doubt he knew that.
I don’t know if he had ever heard of Jesus being in Jericho before.
But this was his one and only opportunity.
No matter the rebukes of others.
No matter the embarrassment.
No matter the risk of rejection.
He was blind.
He was reduced to begging.
It’s a wonder, isn’t it, that we can accept a beggar and the hopeless, but we scoff when the beggar finds hope in Christ?
“Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.”
“Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”
Can you sense the presence of Jesus?
Are you aware that you are hopelessly lost?
Forget the comments and rebukes of others and call out to Jesus.
He’s answered hopeless situations countless times before.

Your Moment with Mercy May Be Now: Don’t Miss It
Jesus of Nazareth Passeth By.
When the blind beggar heard those words, he didn’t wait—he called out for mercy. You don’t have to wait either. If you’ve been searching for Bible answers, hope, or forgiveness, Jesus is still passing by today.
