1 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
What a remarkable way to describe a seared conscience. This is certainly not something that happens naturally.
A hot iron might seat accidentallyAs in a child touching a hot stove before they have learned what hot is. Some have no clue of the dangers this world’s anti-god philosophies possess. People who refuse the warnings of the Word of God and choose to enter into the world to the exclusion of:
- Church,
- Preaching and
- Fellowship with godly believers
vex their soul as Lot did.
A hot iron may sear intentionallySuch as a branding iron, which, once applied, may never be undone. This intentional branding is the purpose of the public education system. It exists to indoctrinate and has become increasingly effective in its work. The mark of the public school is evidenced among other things by the lack of regard for morals among the youth, and the skepticism in biblical truths such as Creation.
No one is born seared with a hot iron.The iron exists in this world. It has to be applied. Our task is to rescue souls from it before they come in contact with it.
