Revelation 21:1 (KJV)
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Isn’t it interesting that a key feature of the new heaven an new earth is that there is no more sea? There are a few things that this brings to mind:
The first state of our present earth was without seas.It was the violent upheaval of the Flood when the oceans and seas were formed.
Seas are turbulent and full of unpredictable troubleNo such turbulence will exist in eternity.
Biblically seas are typological of the masses of people.Perhaps this is an indication of final unity among peoples. Ever since Cain killed his brother Abel, there has been division, differences and disagreement among men. We have different languages, cultures, tastes, beliefs and etc. We divide our properties and we protect our national borders. We have to. The sin nature makes it so.
Eternity will realize the desire of even unregenerate man; unity and peace among all.
